Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to show off your landscaping skills in Northwood? Then join our NORTHWOOD Yard of the Month Contest! Starting May 2023, Rich King Real Estate will be awarding a prize for the Best Yard of the Month to reward the hard work that goes into creating beautiful and well-maintained yards.
Why have we created this contest?
We truly appreciate homeowners who are dedicated to help beautify the amazing community we all live in. Not only does it increase curb appeal, but it also increases the real estate value within the neighborhood! Therefore we want to recognize and reward those who have gone above and beyond in making their own home and community more attractive.
By holding this contest, we hope to engage our local community, get to know our neighbors, encourage everyone to drive around and appreciate the hard work homeowners put into their homes and yards.
How does it work?
The Northwood Yard of the Month Contest will be held on a monthly basis from May until the end of September, and we will then have a special December contest as well. Every month, residents can vote for the best yard/outdoor space in the Northwood community from the 1st until the last day of the month. The winner will be announced on the 1st of the following month and recognized with a yard sign and a prize – a $25 gift certificate to one of our community’s finest businesses! We will have a different winner every month.

If you’re interested in having your yard be considered for this contest, it’s easy to get started:
- Prepare your yard – This can include mowing the lawn, pruning trees and bushes, planting flowers and other plants, and adding decorative elements such as fountains, bird baths, or garden sculptures.

- Keep up with maintenance – Even if you don’t win the contest one month, make sure to continue maintaining your yard throughout the year. Not only will regular upkeep help improve the overall health and appearance of your lawn and garden, but you will have a chance to win this contest the following months!
